about
I wrote this song in response to what happened at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut. It is not meant to point fingers. It is more of a challenge to everybody, including myself, to fight the hate in the world by spreading love.
Proceeds from this song will be donated to Mental Health America in honor of the victims at Sandy Hook.
Special thanks to Ilko Major at The Farm Recording Studio for throwing himself fully into this song as if it was his own and for helping me make this song sound great.
Also a special thanks to Dana White at Specialized Mastering for doing an amazing job mastering and for his charitable contribution.
lyrics
Twenty years old didn't have any friends
In fact no one even tried to pretend
Not for a second does it excuse what he did
I'm just sayin we need to sit back and think for a bit
Like, why did this happen? What can we do?
Is it fair to sit here and blame the news? No
But it played a role
Whole world has heard his name but the kids nobody knows
And what about the teacher who save all those kids? Victoria
She gave everything she had to give, her life
If thats not news I don't know what is
We should celebrate the heros not empower madness
We've been killin each other for way too long
I think we can agree that there is something wrong
I know it seems like the world is so messed up
It's cuz the cameras never show us, never show us the love
Now there's twenty families that have to bury thier kids
And I cant help but think we could have prevented this
Not with gun control or insane asylums
But by genuinly caring and with simple kindness
It's crazy, same shit goin on in China
On the very same day and I am kinda like damn
How much more of this can we take
I would take some good news even if it was fake, fuck
My heart is broken thinkin about those kids
Thinking about the things they could have been
So now I want to take a moment of silence
Let the music speak out against the violence
We've been killin each other for way too long
I think we can agree that there is something wrong
I know it seems like the world is so messed up
It's cuz the cameras never show us, never show us the love
We've been killin each other for way too long
I think we can agree that there is something wrong
I know it seems like the world is so messed up
It's cuz the cameras never show us, never show us the love
We've been killin each other for way too long
I think we can agree that there is something wrong
I know it seems like the world is so messed up
It's cuz the cameras never show us, never show us the love
